- פִּסְפֵּסII (transpos. of סִפְסֵף; cmp. גִּעְגֵּעַ) to cut the ends, trim by singeing. Tosef.Pes.V, 10 אין … אבל מְפַסְפְּסִין אותן באור you dare not scald the head and feet (of the Passover lamb) …, but you may trim them by holding them over the fire; Tosef.Bets.III, 19 (Var. מספסין; Bets.34a מהבהבין).
